水玉や花柄などの曲線の多い柄の表現は、ヨコ絣の得意分野ですが、立絣で表現できる方法もあります。微妙に長さを変えて重ねることで小さめの水玉柄を作りました。オリジナルは昭和時代に作れていた手織りのタテヨコ絣です。オリジナルの図案を元に立絣仕様に修正を施しました。市場のニーズに合わせて、古の柄を掘り起こしてアップデートすることで、新たな商品開発に繋げたい。
