どちらかといえば久留米絣で昔からよく作られている構図です。経糸で四つのドットを組み合わせて表現する「小花」。立絣の他にタテヨコ絣で表現するなど表現の幅があることも古くから作られてきたが故の特徴だと思います。
今回は、部分的に赤に染めてアクセントとしました。久留米絣は括り技法の特性上、経糸で柄を構築する場合は、一定の間隔で柄を作る構造になっています。そこに変化を加えるために色の表現や柄の強弱などのテクニックを用いています。
