春の到来に合わせて草花の芽吹きをイメージした格子柄を作ってみました。久留米絣の産地には昭和初期に片側４挺織機が導入されたことにより格子柄が織られるようになりました。「文人絣」と呼ばれる織り貫技法と藍染めを用いた格子柄を織る目的で産地内に普及しましたが化学染料を用いたカラフルな表現が可能になったことで文人絣以外のパターンも職人の創意工夫により作られるようになりました。
