久留米絣は、「括り技法」に加えて「織り貫技法」という特殊技法があります。文人絣という藍染めの小柄を作るための久留米絣特有の技法です。手織りよりも少し早いくらいのゆっくりした速度で織りあげる「織り締め」を藍で染めると経糸と緯糸が織り重なった部分だけが染まらず、括りでは表現できない細かい柄を作ることができます。産地内においてもこの技術を継承している織元は残り数件。技術を継承している職人として次世代に伝えていきたい。
