＜織りの特徴＞
経糸（たていと）と緯糸（よこいと）の重なりで柄を表現する「タテヨコ絣」
動力織機を用いたタテヨコ絣を織る技術を有している最後の生産地が久留米絣。
括り（くくり）機械と括り職人の存在と合わせて、世界的に見ても久留米絣は
タテヨコ絣の最高峰の技術を現代に受け継ぐ唯一の産地という言い方も過言ではありません。
