「つまみ染め」とは、柄の一部を「手染め」で着色すること。括り技法で黒白など2色に染め分けた後に3色目を手染めするテクニックは、久留米絣の特徴の一つです。かなり手間ひまがかかるため、全ての柄で、つまみ染を行うわけではありません。
