久留米絣の場合は経糸の本数は、基本的には一定です。糸番手による違いはありますが
タテヨコ絣を織る場合は、決まった本数、決まった密度で織らないと柄合わせできません。その限られた本数の中でいかに自由な表現ができるかに挑むところに久留米絣の面白さがあるのかもしれません。
