朝から快晴の秋空の下、経糸の仕上げ工程が職人としての日課です。経糸（たていと）は糊とワックスを溶かしたお湯の中に漬け込み、よく浸透させたうえで脱水したのち引っ張って天日干しすることで仕上げます。
柄の乱れを防ぐために等間隔に手作業で「柄留め」します。糸が濡れた状態では引っ張っても切れにくいし、よく伸びます。写真の糸の束でも200本の束になってます。適度に引っ張ることで糸全体のテンションを均一にすることができます。織り工程で柄が整った状態で織っていくことができます。
