The warp threads are light beige and blue stripes.
Kurume Kasuri is a flat and simple weaving structure called “plain weave”.
Two warps are threaded through a metal fence called “Osa” to create a uniform density with respect to the width of the fabric.
I have been experimenting with my approach to this for many years. I arrive at a place where I can be satisfied each time, but new discoveries and challenges are discovered, and my inquisitive mind never ceases.
We have decided the theme every time, but this year’s theme is “Weigh the fabric unchanged, and do not change the softness peculiar to Kurume Kasuri, and make the fabric plump and thick.”
