SHIMOGAWA Internship

About Our Internship Program

Who We’re Looking For
We welcome designers and textile artists who:
– Have some knowledge or experience with kasuri (Japanese ikat), or
– Have created woven or dyed textiles themselves, or
– Are deeply interested in kasuri techniques and production.

What We Expect
Interns will stay and work directly in our kasuri workshop, where we produce textiles at scale. Through hands-on experience, we hope to explore possibilities for future creative collaborations.

Our Purpose at Shimokawa Orimono
Through these exchanges and collaborative projects, we aim to create new opportunities for showcasing and selling our work. By building meaningful business connections, we hope to support and sustain the continued production of Kurume Kasuri.
