織り工の工夫
絣は一般的な織物に比べて糸の表面に糊とワックスがたくさん付いてます。柄のまとまりを崩さずに織るためです。それでも様々な要因で柄のズレが生じます。織り専門の職人は1本単位で糸を浮かせて糸の進み具合を遅らせるなど細かい調整によって織りながら柄を整えて織っていく技術を身につけています。
