板状の木管は、動力織りの絣織物特有の木管で、現在では、久留米絣産地のみで使われる希少なものとなりました。久留米産地内においても動力織機で久留米絣を織ることのできる織元は10件程度となり、世界中を見渡しても、この技術を保有し継承し続ける唯一の産地。図案1枚分の長さの緯糸をこの木管に巻き、リピートで織ります。中央より左の黒く塗った箇所の中心の線に耳を合わせて巻きあげています。
