経糸（たていと）を巻く工程を荒巻（荒巻）といいます。
柄の部分（絣糸）と無地の部分（地糸）を図案に基づいて
「オサ」に落とし込みます。整列した状態を保つことで
約１６０m（８００本）の糸をもつれずに最後まで柄を保ちながら巻き上げることができます。
