緯糸のことを「ヌキ」と呼ぶのは前回のブログでも触れました。そのため緯糸に括りを施して柄を表現する場合「ヌキ絣」と呼びます。また花柄など曲線を多用した絵柄の表現が得意なために「絵絣」という呼び方も一般的です。動力織機における絵絣を織る極意は「正確な往復運動の調整」にあります。
