Most of the Kasuri looms are made in the early to mid Showa period. The exact age is not well investigated, but I think most of them were made before the 1965’s at the site level when they were introduced in the production area.
Many parts, including the base, are made of “casting”. If you need to replace a part due to wear or damage, use the part stored in the warehouse. Only wooden parts and some leather products are newly made. Many Orimoto-san have been out of business so far. When we go out of business and dispose of the loom, we take over good-quality items and consumable parts and store them in the warehouse, and continue to use them carefully. I have the feeling that I will make use of the feelings of those who have gone out of business.
In addition, the screws of the age when this loom was made and the screws currently on the market are different in type, so there are many cases where they do not fit when replacing worn or damaged screws. So, I keep old screws with my old loom, but sometimes they don’t fit.
