<赤系の絣さまざま>
赤、黄色、オレンジなどの暖色を膨張色と呼び、青、水色などの寒色を収縮色と呼びます。また緑や紫などは中間色に分類されます。プレーンな平織りで作る久留米絣に立体感をもたらすためには、膨張色と収縮色を理解し、組み合わせることが久留米絣の柄をより効果的に活かすことに繋がります。
立湧(たてわく)
水蒸気がゆらゆらと立ち上がる様子を表した有職(ゆうそく)文様。運気を上げる文様とされてます。有職文様とは、平安時代以後、貴族の装束などに用いられた格の高い文様。さまざまなアレンジが加えられ幅広い用途に用いられてきた歴史があります。
