経糸(たていと)の括りのパターンを複数種類組み合わせることで柄を作る絣を立絣(たてかすり)と呼びます。1度に組み合わせることのできるパターンの制約や立方向に柄がかすれるため、立絣特有の特徴が現れます。カクカクした水玉模様やランダムな幾何学模様など個性的な柄が並びます。
