立絣は荒巻技法で柄合わせして巻いた12反分の経糸を職人が微調整しながら織っていきます。他の織物と違って巻き上げた経糸が織機の中に入っていきレースの上で緯糸と交差するまでの距離が非常に短いという特徴があります。テンションもゆるいので織りにくい面もありますが織りあがった生地は見た目以上にやわらかい風合いに仕上がります。
